The archival science is a branch of historical studies that deals with the archival theory studies and determination of principles and rules that apply in the professional work with archival holdings. It studies the methods for recording and protecting registration material and archival holdings outside the archives, methods for the extraction of worthless registration material, selection of archival documents and takeover of archival holdings by the archives, ways and conditions for the storage and preservation of documents at archives, methods of classification, systematization and processing (making of means of information), ways of publication, exhibiting of documents at exhibitions and other forms of use of archival documents for scientific and other purposes.
