Practical Training of Future Cultural Managers at the Archives of Yugoslavia
In accordance with the latest intensions of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia to engage managers in cultural institutions, the Archives of Yugoslavia admitted a future cultural manager to be practically trained in this institution – Nataša Ivanović, a student of Master’s studies at the UNESCO Department for Cultural Policy and Cultural Management of the University of Arts in Belgrade and the University in Lion (France), chaired by Ph.D. Professor Milena Dragićević Šešić. The future cultural manager's expert training is conducted within the Department for Information, Archival Material Publishing and International Cooperation and will last for a month. The training includes getting familiar with the information media of the Archives, communication with users, publishing activities (publishing collections of documents, the magazine of the Archives, the catalogue and other publications), preparation of exhibitions of archival documents, presentation of the Archives in the media and international cooperation.
The task of managers engaged in cultural institutions is to mediate between the sphere of culture and the market, i.e. to develop new programs and projects aimed at orienting cultural institutions towards the market and to present their work and achievements to the wider audience in the best possible way.
